Art. In my native country, the arts are often viewed as a hobby rather than a serious field of study. I come from a lower class family background that tried to convince me that "Art is not a real job" and I've never recived much support. But despite that, my passion was endless.

I started working at the age of 14 as a waitress to save money which gave me the chance to find my way and my independence. I knew from the very beginning that this is what I was meant to do, that art is what my life is for.

I have no doubt about that.

Throughout my educational career I have always been hard-working and determineted, always putting 100% of the commitment into every goal I must complete. I have the ambition and dedication needed to thrive in the figurative art field and I can feel the excitement running up my spine when I think about my next projects and my future.

I have a thirst to continue my works.

The help this scholarship gave me last year is been essential. It really helped me to reach the first important steps of my personal career and I cannot be more grateful. But now, in my last year of studies, another opportunity is crucial for me.

I truly believe that I can bring something to the next generetion of artist.

Bet on me. And I know that if I combine the power of my mind and my heart together, I can do all I want.

Born in 1999, Italy, Micol Cornali lives and studies in Barcelona, Spain. Interested in art from an early age, she attended an art-focused high school where she had the opportunity to experiment with all kinds of techniques, from digital art to glass modeling, from classic art to fine art restoration.

And it was there that she understood being an artist was her future.

She currently attends the Barcelona Academy of Art, completing two degrees in one: 19th century figurative sculpture and classic painting.

She was the winner with her self-portrait of the “Self-Portrait in Quarantine” competition in September 2020 and exhibited in the Punt de Vistes 360 gallery, in Barcelona, in July 2021. First prize of the Art Renewal Center 2021 scholarship, she was exhibited in the MEAM museum, in Barcelona, as a finalist in the Figurativas 2021 competition.
