Review of Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine
All art collectors who want to keep abreast and informed about collecting need to take a look at Fine Art Connoisseur magazine. Formally the smaller but knowledgeable magazine, Plein Air, Fine Art Connoisseur has broadened and deepened its scope. It is visually satisfying and intellectually meaningful, offering enough of both to please the art scholar and art lover as well as those fortunate enough to be able to collect art seriously. This is a large, bi-monthly magazine, and when I say large I mean as in its dimensions, a handsome 9 x 11 inches and in the number of images, articles and departments of information that it offers. It is also printed on the highest quality paper with excellent coloring. Even the advertisers offer fine images of works they hope to sell, and their images add to, not detract from, the magazines premier and classy image.
Let's look for example at the articles offered in the most recent issue of November-December 2006:

Eric Rhoads is the publisher, founder and Editor-in-Chief of Fine Art Connoisseur and its predecessor Plein Air. His vision for this rich and intelligent magazine has been successful and his decision to hire Peter Trippi as editor is also to his credit. Peter Trippi brings a long list of accomplishments and experience to the magazine. His positions as a curator for the Brooklyn Museum and the Director of the Dahesh Museum in NYC give the magazine a deeper understanding of the art world as does his writing experience and scholarship.
