In recognition of his contributions to the field, he was designated an Associate Living Master by the Art Renewal Center in 2015 and is the founder and director of Miano Academy of Art, an ARC Approved Atelier in Sarasota, Florida.\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003EMiano\u0026rsquo;s paintings and drawings range from the human figure and portraiture to still life and narrative art. Central to his work is the primacy of light and its power to bring a sense of life and beauty to the visible world, often carrying deeper meaning through narrative and symbolism. His interest in the Renaissance idea of moti dell\u0026rsquo;animo, the movements of the soul, informs his search for gesture, expression, and the inner life of his subjects.\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003EMiano\u0026rsquo;s artistic development includes extensive study in the United States and Europe with many of today\u0026rsquo;s leading representational painters, together with years of sustained work from life and study of the European painting tradition. Since founding Miano Academy of Art in 2007, he has trained artists through long-term apprenticeship, workshops, lectures, demonstrations, and online instruction while helping preserve and advance the traditions of representational art.\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003EHis work has received recognition from the Art Renewal Center, Portrait Society of America, Oil Painters of America, and The Representational Art Conference.
