Mother Courage

This is about mother as hero. Breast feeding is a subject that is close to my heart. This painting was created from life and went through many iterations since I first started it in 2013. I finally made the last changes and called it finished in 2018

This painting was the winner of Lore Degenstein, Cadmium Award (TRAC2015), Finalist Portrait Society of America Int. Comp, First place Portrait Society Members Competition, Poets and Artists top 50 paintings, finalist Allied Artists and Salmagundi Club Members competition, and first iteration of this painting was a finalist at the ARC Salon Competion 2013-14, and after portions of it were repainted it becam a finalist again in 2014-15

This painting was featured in a book of Contemporary British poetry.
