Atelier Mesones, located in the heart of Mexico City, has transcended its original function as a painting and drawing academy to become a renowned center for artistic production and a vital social gathering space. Founded in 2017, this atelier, true to the French sense of the word, has established itself as a place where art is not only taught but lived and breathed.

Under the direction of Miguel Casco and Remi Cárdenas, Atelier Mesones hosts courses like 'Introduction to Drawing and Painting with Live Models', ‘Fundamentals of Oil Painting: Master Copies’, and 'Project Laboratory'. The latter is a distinctive course focused on the creation of comprehensive artistic projects. Through it, students explore painting as a medium to address contemporary issues, from self-representation in the digital age to cultural hybridization and the relevance of women in Mexican art.

The program is enriched with Joshua Tepox's 'Fundamentals of Drawing' class, and 'Current Art Theory', taught by Paola Talavera, an independent curator with a fresh perspective on contemporary art. Collaborations with painting and drawing professionals like Diana Buitrago, Kevin Muller, Gustavo Velasco, Ken Goshen, Tsune Orozco, Elena Manero, and César Meza have significantly contributed to the educational experience's diversity and richness at Atelier Mesones.

More than a place for learning artistic techniques, Atelier Mesones has become an active forum for debates, discussions, and reflections on art and its role in society. Its focus on creating a horizontal, safe, inclusive, egalitarian, and discrimination-free environment has established the atelier as a role model in the artistic community, fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect and collaborative learning.

Atelier Mesones not only shapes artists with technical skills but also nurtures critical thinkers and innovative creators, preparing them to make a significant contribution to the contemporary artistic landscape and broader cultural dialogue.
