Sydney Art School is the only Australian ARC approved school that is also accredited by the Australian Government to award qualifications at certificate & diploma levels under the Australian Qualifications Framework.  It is the only private college in Australia that is focused solely on the visual arts to have achieved this accreditation.

Students at the school develop skills in the disciplines of drawing, painting, printmaking & silversmithing.   The School has built a reputation for excellence in developing observational and representational artistic skills.  Graduates of the School have gone on to build careers as professional artists, art educators or have moved into further studies at Australian Universities.

The School caters to a diverse range of students with courses covering tertiary, secondary and primary level studies.  In addition to domestic students the School attracts students from overseas who come to Australia to study art at Sydney Art School.

The faculty comprises some of Australia’s best professional art practitioners and educators.  Tutors include winners and finalists in some of Australia's most prestigious art prizes including the Archibald Prize, the Moran Portrait Prize & the Gallipoli Memorial Prize.  The tutor's role is to give “in studio” instruction on techniques combined with personal feedback to help each student develop technical and professional skills as an artist.

The School additionally offers classes to school age students which follow a developmental program designed to lead young students into the classes where they can work towards formal qualifications.
