Gustave Caillebotte: The Painter's Eye

| Caillebotte was among the most critically noted impressionist artists during the height of their activity in the late 1870s and early 1880s. Some 45 paintings from 1875 to 1882—the period in which Caillebotte was fully engaged with the impressionist movement—will provide a focused understanding of the provocative character and complexity of his artistic contributions, from spectacular images of the new public spaces designed by Baron Haussmann to visual meditations on leisure-time activities in and around Paris. The exhibit runs from June 28 - October 4, 2015 at the National Gallery of Art - 6th Street and Constitution Avenue NW Washington, DC.
