Summary of 19th Century Painting

After realizing that many visitors to the ARC website wanted to better understand the history of 19th century academic painting and the various movements and key players, Kara Lysandra Ross, ARC Co-Chair/COO has recently published a summary of 19th century French and Victorian painting (1849-1900) on the ARC website. This essay gives a concise understanding of this momentous period in fine art, including the driving factors that created it, the critical schools and institutions, most famous artists and the movements they inspired.
