The Higher Aim of Art: Lecture Series

Published on November 2, 2018

In their lifelong pursuit of figurative art, artists often focus on the "hows" of acquiring skills and knowledge, but not the "whys," "wheres" and "whats." "Why do you create?” “Where do you apply your skills?” "What images are vital to produce?” In this series of hour-long evening talks, internationally renowned figurative artists discuss personal creative philosophies in a thought-provoking conversation on professional practice.

Vincent Desiderio leads an intense conversation about inspiration, his own inventions and the nature of creating.  His work can be found in many major collections including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and the Hirshorn Museum.

All presentations take place 6 - 8 p.m. in Studio Incamminati's fifth-floor studio, 340 North 12th Street, Suite 400, Philadelphia, PA 19107. The cost is $10.

ALL AREA ART STUDENTS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND AT NO CHARGE. HOWEVER, THEY MUST REGISTER ONLINE AND DISPLAY A VALID STUDENT ID AT THE DOOR.
