Congratulations to ARC Living Master Vicki Sullivan for winning third place in the International Artist Magazine Challenge for her painting "My Sister, My Friend".
"Children are one of my favorite subjects to paint. During the pandemic, as we were in lockdown for so many months, I was unable to have live models in the studio...I remembered a photo I had always loved of my two nieces...I decided this would make a beautiful subject for a painting. I was absolutely drawn to the look on my older niece’s face, a look of dreamy wisdom coming from such a young girl. It was that particular look and the close sisterly bond I wanted to capture in my painterly portrayal."
