ARC Master, Ted Seth Jacobs is leading a Three Month Intensive Portrait Program at the Bay Area Classical Artist Atelier in Belmont California November 10, 2008-February 13, 2009 Three-month intensive portrait painting program: The Uniqueness of the human Individual Ted Seth Jacobs, specialist on Light and Structure~ Likeness depends upon accurate drawing. The basis of drawing is seeing the exact special shape of everything. Making the head look human requires an understanding of organic structure, from the largest underlying masses to the smallest surface forms. It is necessary to paint a likeness of every structure. You will learn to create form through the actions of light. Gradations must be shaped, according to the light direction and the shape of each form. Each individual subject's features are generated from a matrix proportional ratio. This will be an intensive session, loaded with information. The Gallery for ARC Living Master™, Dan Thompson is now available for viewing on ARC. In 2006, Dan Thompson co-founded the Grand Central Academy of Art in New York. He has also instructed privately at Studio 126 in New York and taught at Parsons the New School for Design, the New York Academy of Art and at the Art Students League of New York. He has taught workshops in Seattle, Santa Fe, Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, New Orleans, Washington, D.C. and in France.

ARC supports traditional realism and technical mastery in the visual arts. Each Atelier has it's own section with detailed information about the schools listed as ARC Approved™. The Living Masters™ Gallery provides exposure to contemporary realists with masterly skills and shows us that there are those dedicated to the realistic traditions who are fast at work in the 21st century.
